Most Nigerians would really love to learn French especially because Nigeria is surrounded by French speaking countries but due to some reasons they are unable to learn French.

USE OF MULTIMEDIA


The best way to begin any French Tutorial is to make use of ICTs.  ICTs greatly facilitate the acquisition and absorption of knowledge and this is key in keeping the learner awake. French is not a boring Language and you need to teach it in a fun way. The use of a laptop, speaker,headsets etc. can sharpen the urge to continue learning.

            It’s advisable to share level-appropriate and entertaining French video material with your students in order to keep his interest alive, you can even ask to summarize whatever he understands after playing any video.


SPEAK FRENCH REGULARLY


You must encourage the beginner to start speaking French immediately especially after studying conjugations they should be able to make simple sentences. A good French tutor must not forget the learners mistakes when they speak,he should carefully note there errors and make necessary corrections and every time such an error is repeated, he should carefully re- explain, after a while the mistake will be done with. He should also speak and translate everything he says. At the end of the month he should be able to make a report showing the progress of the learner.


USE THE DICTIONARY


Beginners always have many questions and when they begin to bombard you with them, you won’t be able to make any progress. To solve this problem, you can simply teach them how to use a French dictionary so that they will be able to find answers on their own.

Some beginners tend to feel bad when you begin teaching them  because of their ego ,they start to speak big English grammar to tackle and show you they are not dull some might even put up pointless arguments or ask irrelevant questions like  “do you know Introduction is an English word? Etc. If you can’t handle such ones, you won’t make any progress and they will blame you for their failure.
